Like-Minded Individuals Connect
In his best-selling book Click: Ten Truths for Building Extraordinary Relationships, Dr. George C. Fraser wrote about the importance of like-minded individuals finding and connecting with others who share the same passions, values, and beliefs. These relationships have the power to benefit those involved, enhancing personal and professional lives, and leading to greater goals and bigger dreams being achieved.
When First Financial Security, Inc. CEO Phil Gerlicher and Dr. George Fraser met, they clicked. More than simply timing or chemistry, the two men enjoyed an instant rapport and shared similar values and beliefs. They were especially in sync when it came to a common goal, ensuring all Americans have access to financial education and the innovative products necessary to achieve financial security and the peace of mind that comes with it.
Over the course of a few months, through conversations in business offices and across dining room tables, each man shared how his organization was battling financial illiteracy in the United States.
LiSA Initiative Brings Financial Education Into Communities
Dr. Fraser was impressed with the work LiSA Initiative, the grassroots women’s movement sponsored by First Financial Security, Inc., was doing to bring financial education, innovative products, training and mentoring, and an entrepreneurial opportunity into communities across the United States.
“LiSA Initiative and First Financial Security, Inc. offer very creative insurance products and LiSA Literacy Project’s educational curriculum that fulfills our goals with integrity, efficiency, and simplicity,” Dr. Fraser said. “It is almost like it was designed for us.”
Financial Freedom Pledge Part Of M.O.S.E.S.
Phil Gerlicher had high praise for Dr. Fraser’s M.O.S.E.S. Movement (Making Ourselves Economically Successful), a program created by FraserNet, Inc., an organization Dr. Fraser founded 28 years. The M.O.S.E.S program was designed to significantly improve financial literacy and money management skills through education, training and motivation.
“One of the most interesting component’s of the M.O.S.E.S. program is the Financial Freedom Pledge,” Phil Gerlicher said. “The fact that every participant commits to this pledge, to become debt free and to save $50 per month is key to the overall success of the program. By making the commitment, they are taking the entire program more seriously.”
Joint Effort Yields Greater Progress
While both organizations were beginning to see the signs of success from their efforts, it wasn’t lost on either man that their joint efforts could yield even greater progress to their goal.
In the first project of their new partnership, First Financial Security, Inc. signed on a Strategic Partner for Dr. Fraser’s PowerNetworking Conference 2015, June 25-27 in Dallas at the Fairmont. Voted on of Forbes Top 5 Can’t Miss Conferences for Entrepreneurs, the PowerNetworking Conference brought some of the top leaders, educators, entrepreneurs and many others together for this annual four-day, business and networking summit.
Several key First Financial Security, Inc. executives and field leaders attended the event, many of whom spoke. One of the speakers was First Financial Security, Inc. Co-CEO and LiSA Initiative Chair Debbie Gerlicher, who reiterated the organization’s dedication to Dr. Fraser, his organization and its cause, in her remarks to those in attendance.
“First Financial Security, Inc. and LiSA are committed to you, Dr. Fraser,” Ms. Gerlicher said. “We’re committed to this community, and we’re committed to our shared calling to help all people achieve financial security and peace of mind. Although our partnership is young, it is strong, and we are resolute in our desire that it be a long and lasting relationship.”
Dr Fraser To Speak At Leaders Convention 2015
First Financial Security, Inc. has asked Dr. Fraser to speak at its annual Leaders Convention 2015, July 15-18, at the M Resort Spa & Casino in Las Vegas. He is scheduled to speak twice during the four-day event – once on Wed, July 15, at the LiSA Initiative meeting, and to the entire convention during Fri., July 17’s Leadership Session.
“The decision to invite Dr. Fraser to speak at our Leadership Convention is the natural progression of our deepening partnership,” Mr. Gerlicher explained. “Dr. Fraser often talks about the importance of staying the course. No matter how tough things get, no matter how green the grass is on the other side of the fence, it doesn’t matter. You always stay the course.
